The City of Rome Postgraduate Course

Next course: 1 April - 27 May 2011

The deadline for applications is Friday 5 November.

Annual 8-week course for postgraduates at Masters or early Doctoral level studying classical archaeology, art history, ancient history (both Greek and Roman) and the transformation of antiquity in the Middle Ages and the modern period. It forms one quarter of one year's full-time postgraduate course. The course director in 2011 will be Dr Robert Coates-Stephens.
Course tutorial fee (normally paid via fee transfer from student's university): approx. £875-£1,000. Course residential fee:  €2,000 for shared room. Fees exclude travel to Rome.

Ancient Rome Undergraduate Summer School

The deadline for applications has now passed. Applications for the course to held in September 2011 will be invited in March 2011.

Annual 12-day course intended for undergraduates studying classics, ancient history, classical archaeology and related subjects at a British or Irish university. It offers an intensive programme of visits to the sites, monuments and museums of ancient Rome and its vicinity, with a series of evening lectures. The aim is to provide a stimulating introduction to the topography of the city, its architecture and art, the latest discoveries and new developments in archaeological approaches.
Course fee in 2010 (excluding travel to Rome): €900. Bursaries are available.  Click here for details of the 2010 course.
