Archaeological Survey: Projects

small logo

The British School at Rome first began running geophysical surveys as part of the research of the Tiber Valley Project and Roman Towns Project. It has since conducted many projects throughout Italy, on the behalf of UK universities as well as Italian institutions, Soprintendenzas, City Councils and private individuals. In 2001 it established a collaborative agreement with the APSS of the University of Southampton in order to pool their resources, thus providing a further improved service. Together, they have now undertaken projects in the regions of Lazio, Campania, Puglia, Abruzzo, Le Marche and Umbria, as well as within the city of Rome itself. Recently, the School has also begun to conduct archaeological surveys throughout other parts of the Mediterranean.
